Crazy dream
Plus I got to hear some live polka
I don't usually remember my dreams, much to my chagrin. Things I Hate started
largely with Annna's bizarre dreams. Some of them are twisted, a lot of them
deal with zombies, and they're all messed up. My personal favorites are:
Anyway, I had a dream last night starring a friend of mine we will call Helmut.
I was at a social gathering with Helmut and he was wearing a skirt, which I
thought was rather bizarre, but no one did seemed to mind. He didn't say so,
but I understood that it belonged to his girlfriend. We got into an animated
discussion over math proofs and, due to a lack of paper, we notated all of our
arguments on the skirt in magic marker. Then, we got tired and went home.
It's hardly an Annna quality dream, and I guess I was highly misleading when I
billed the dream as 'Crazy', but I rarely remember my dreams, so it's a
start. I'm also really tired because I slept all of 4 hours last night. Even
though I'm no longer a college student, I can't seem to get out of the 'stay up
really late and just be non-productive tomorrow' mindset.
Tuesday night I hung out with Ben and Gerran at a coffee shop, and they had a
live band made of 5 guys. They started by doing some great highland music, but
the guitarist and one of the flutists switched to accordians, and they played
some rather rousing polkas. My only complaint was that although they seemed
to be able to play some polkas well, they didn't know many. I asked a guy if
they could play "The Too Fat Polka", a Frankie Yankovic staple, and
he said he had never heard of it. I then asked if they knew " The
Pennsylvania Polka". He told me they knew it, so they all started in and
played "The Beer Barrel Polka". I mean, not that I should complain.
It's still a great polka, and they were both Andrews Sisters polkas.
Why must I be freakishly obsessive about music?
