Ashley
The reason for my delinquency

First off, appy polly loggies, my dear readers. I've been a bad blogger/writer/whatever as of late. There has been a lot going on as of late. Aside from some busy spots at work and my increasing disinterest in even looking at a computer outside of my job, I've met a phenomenal girl.

Ashley and I have a few mutual friends, and have lived a block apart from each other for two years, so it's odd we'd never met. Or, perhaps we'd met in the past and never noticed each other. Perhaps if I were in the habit of introducing myself to strangers, I would have met her long ago.

Thankfully, when Liz, Ryan, and I went to see Sahara, Liz decided to invite Ashley as well. In talking with Ashley later, I guess I made more or less the exact first impression that I imagine I leave with people: I was the nerdy guy who sat in the back seat and played with his iPod to play bizarre music over Ryan's stereo. That doesn't really bother me; I am who I am, and I'm not much good at putting on airs. What throws me is that she stayed interested beyond that point.

She's goofy, smart, very cute, athletic, and bowls like no one's business. She plays my PS2 as much as I do, can roundly kick your butt in Magic, writes killer ambient techno, and likes to clean. I feel like the people in the first iteration of The Matrix; it's so beyond amazing that I feel like my head's going to explode.

So, anyway, that's why I've been shirking my responsibilities. As time progresses, I'll find time in my schedule for something other than work, sleep, food, and Ashley, but the way it's been going lately, I'll simply offer my apologies in advance.

I saw Hitchhiker's Guide the other night. Douglas Adams would have been proud. A bigger, better review likely coming soon, but I just wanted to go on record and say I approve.
As soon as my tax return shows up, I'm buying a new toy to compliment my new Flickr account. It's pretty empty as of yet, but there will be many photos to come.

I'm so happy for you Matt! You're a sweet & funny guy who deserves a great girl. Huzzah!

 Mark - Apr 30th, 2005
No apology needed... I am the most guilty of neglecting my writing for such reasons.
Congrats to you and Ashley. I wish you every bit of the happiness that many of us are so fortunate to have.
I am of the opinion that relationships should be easy. If it's hard to stay together, you're either 1)not ready for a relationship or 2) not with the right person.
You've paid your dues, you've been patient; is poetic justice forthcoming? :-)

 Phew!Lillibet Layne - Apr 30th, 2005
I'm so relieved... I'm reluctant to trust a man who doesn't blog about his girlfriend... ;) -- Ashley, you're blogworthy... and it's official... Matt likes you.

 Talk about exageration...Lieutenant Toast - Apr 30th, 2005
This girl sounds like a dream. Are you making her up? I won't believe she exists until I see pictures!

 Matt - Apr 30th, 2005
You bet your sweet bippy she's real. When the IRS gets around to sending my return, i shall have PILES of proof.

As dear as the two of you are to Matt, I believe he still loves me a tad more and knew Mama would be upset if she had been at the end of the list. Technically I got to meet her even before Little P and wife did! Well, barely...like two seconds. :-) What is the latest on baby?

 Liz - May 3rd, 2005
I'd brag about technically

 Liz - May 3rd, 2005
My use of brackets, rather than parenthasese screwed up the commentage. Ooops ... Here it goes again ...

I'd brag about technically

 Liz - May 3rd, 2005
Matt's site doesn't like my use of punctuation marks that aren't commas or the like. Bah. One last time, and I'll give up if I don't have success.

I'd brag about technically 'meeting' her first, but seeing as how I introduced the two of them - with some help from Ryan, of course - it seems like a bit of a moot point.

But I think I was the first to pick up on Ash's feelings. Does that get me anything?

... And between me and Ryan conspiring against the two of them ... hee hee hee ...

 PunctuationRon - May 4th, 2005
Punctuation marks that aren't commas or the like? La-dee-dah, who won the lottery?

 To Mamafatty - May 4th, 2005
Well, having given birth to him, you seem to have had an unfair advantage. We didn't even really have a chance.

As far as the baby, he's really active...Mrs. Fatty thinks he wants to come out now, so I keep having little chats with him where I tell him that we love him and can't wait to see him and all, but he's not allowed to come out for another month. He sure has fun terrorizing his mom, though.

Long time no see!Kristie (Henderson) Willis - May 4th, 2005
Hey Matt! What’s up? Was doing a Google search tonight to see if I could catch up with some of my old friends, stumbled across your site. I'm soooo happy for you! Ashley sounds like a great person. Would love to see pictures of her up here soon. Was Hitchhicker any good? I've been rereading the books lately and I just don't want to be disappointed when I see it if it's not good. Any who, I'm in Jackson Mississippi with my hubby for the year, till Sept. We'll be moving to Omaha then, and I'll be so glad to be back in my old stomping grounds. Drop me a line sometime soon ok! :)

PS, found Andy G's blog, think he'd remember me? Later!
