Supernatural!
Also, more on the trip
Liz recently introduced me to Supernatural. Think of it as X-Files meets adult-horror-level Scary Stories To Tell In the Dark. You have your wendigos, your Hook-on-the-car-door legends, and you have general ghosty-weirdness. The pilot episode has them chasing down a Woman in White, and in the process you're introduced to a seperate ghost that shows up throughout the series. I can't say more without either giving away spoilers or causing the squeamish to have nightmares.
Halloween is fast approaching and I no longer have the costume partner I once did, and my little brother called dibs on being a pirate. Suggestions on a quick and easy costume?
Georgia was fun and very relaxing. I stayed with my aunt and uncle, and they were just down the street from their daughter, her husband, and their son. I mostly hung around the house, played around on my laptop, napped, read, and drank a crazy amount of peach Fresca. I also hung out with my cousin, worked at a soup kitchen, went to the beach, and we occasionally went out for food. Everyone was very nice, and since my aunt and uncle are retired, it was almost like staying at a Bed and Breakfast where I was the only guest. I got nice, hot meals, people to sit and chitchat with, and they remembered to tape the season premier of House for me. All in all, it was a great week. The trip home was a bit of a kick in the teeth, but I got the whole day Monday to sit around and destress, so the end cumulative effect was a positive one. Also, I forgot to mention this, but I'm pretty sure I saw Ernie Hudson walk past me at the airport. Which is pretty cool, I guess.
Completely unrelated, but odd: on Coca-Cola's Brand List page, they appear to claim A&W Root Beer as a Coke product. I know that's not the case here in the US, as it's owned by Dr. Pepper/Seven Up, but it appears to be a Coke trademark in the UK, and a Pepsi trademark in Brazil. So, in some countries A&W is bottled alongside Barq's, in some countries it's bottled alongside Mug, and in some countries, the 3 actively compete. How bizarre.
