Tell Me Quick
Ain't Love A Kick in the Head?
Wow. Third post of 2007 and it's only barely October.
I Eat Paint isn't one of those fancy push-button blogs like Blogger or TypePad or WordPress or anything like that. No, I wrote the engine myself, and, well, it sort of shows. For example, I wrote the login system myself. So when one day I tried to log in to write a new entry, and I Eat Paint doesn't let me, it's really no one's fault but mine. Thus, a little bit of down-time between then and now.
Anyway, I have a nice little queuing system that lets me start drafts of entries and then come back to them later. This queuing system is now full of old entries that aren't really relevant anymore. I have been picking through those to find interesting things that have happened and that I haven't written about so I can bring you all up to speed on the last, oh, 5 months since I've written.
First-ly and foremost-ly, there is a girl in the scene now. I have not written about her because she's she's not super-keen on having lots of info about her on the intarweb, but I figure it's fine to tell you her name is Wendy and she lives in Wisconsin. Since I happen to not live in Wisconsin, that can make things a touch difficult, but we manage, mostly by driving back and forth a lot until such a point when one of us can move.
As the title/subtitle allude, things are going swimmingly. I've met her family, she's met my family, and at some point in the relative near future, our families will be meeting each other. Infer from that what you wish. Pictures are here.
Because I love to write the number 7, I am very happy that it is 2007; I haven't been able to regularly write it since 1997. I practice the European/Australian method of writing my 7; that is, with a stroke through the 7. I'm not sure when I picked up that particular affectation (which carries over to my Zs). I recall doing it back in 1997, but I may well have adopted it that year. I also remember seeing it as early as 1991 when Apple starting certifying products System 7 Savvy.
I got a guitar. It's an Eko Ranger VI that I got third- (or eighth-) hand from a friend. Somewhere in its 20-odd year lifetime, someone sat on it and subsequently repaired it. At any rate, it still works, sounds okay., and didn't cost me anything.
I also bought a Wii. Iff'n you wanted to friend me, my Wii is 5069 3433 6989 5927. I've also been known to put on wrist weights and work out with it, using Wii Sports. It's pretty awesome.
What have you been up to? Also, for those of you who know me in real life, did I forget anything?
ETA: I apparently have not yet fixed the database's date stuff, and comments aren't working yet.
